7. Drone Control Center
The Drone Control Center in AeroGCS Enterprise provides a real-time interface for monitoring drone missions from anywhere. It offers a live satellite map, synchronised telemetry display, and playback tools to track drone performance either during or after flight.
This module is ideal for field operators tracking missions live or for managers monitoring multiple projects remotely. Whether you are observing a single drone or coordinating multiple ongoing operations, the Drone Control Center serves as your command centre.
7.1 Accessing the Drone Control Center
Follow these steps to access the Drone Control Center and begin tracking drone activity:
- Log in to the AeroGCS Enterprise web application.
- From the left-hand sidebar, click on the Drone Control Center.
- The interface will open in a mode titled “Drone Control Center – All Available Drones”, listing all live drones currently connected.
- From the dropdown list, select the desired drone from the available live drones.
- Upon selection, the interface will switch to Live Flight View, where you can track the flight in real time with full telemetry data and flight path display.
💡 Note: Only drones that are airborne and actively transmitting telemetry will appear in the live list. If no drones are online, the dropdown will be empty.
7.2 Live Flight View Overview
After selecting a drone, the interface transitions into Live Flight View, a satellite-map-based dashboard for real-time monitoring of the selected drone’s mission.
Key Interface Elements
UI Element | Description |
Map Panel | Displays the drone’s real-time position and flight path |
Flight Header | Shows Project Name, Plan Name, Drone ID, and Flight ID |
Telemetry Panel | Displays key flight parameters continuously |
Timeline Slider | Active during replays; not shown in real-time tracking |
Control Buttons | Available for replay mode (Play, Pause, Restart, Scrub) |
7.3 Telemetry Panel & Real-Time Data
During live flights, the telemetry panel continuously displays drone performance parameters. This enables users to assess system health and mission progress instantly.
Parameter | Description |
Lat / Long | Real-time GPS coordinates of the drone |
Roll / Pitch / Yaw | Drone orientation parameters |
Altitude | Current flying altitude (in metres) |
Speed (m/s) | Horizontal flight speed |
Battery Voltage | Current battery level |
Flight Mode | Active flight mode (e.g., AUTO, STABILIZE) |
Flow Rate (ml/s) | Spraying rate if payload is enabled |
Sprayed Area (Acr) | Cumulative sprayed area in acres |
Distance Travelled (m) | Total mission distance covered |
7.4 Monitoring Multiple Drones
AeroGCS Enterprise supports simultaneous tracking of multiple active drones.
- The Drone Control Center – All Available Drones screen lists all drones currently online.
- Users can switch between drones by selecting different entries from the dropdown.
- Each drone’s real-time view opens independently with its own telemetry stream and flight map.
💡 This feature is especially useful for project managers or supervisors monitoring distributed missions from a central location.
7.5 Best Practices
For effective mission tracking using the Drone Control Center:
- ✅ Confirm that the drone has taken off and is transmitting telemetry before selecting it.
- ✅ Use the telemetry panel to watch for anomalies such as low battery, erratic altitude, or loss of GPS fix.
- ✅ Switch to replay mode post-mission to review flight events in detail.
💡 Tip: Always document flights using the telemetry logs and PDF reports for compliance, maintenance, or client delivery.
7.6 Troubleshooting
Issue | Possible Cause | Recommended Action |
No drones appear in dropdown | No drone is airborne | Ensure the drone has taken off |
Drone not switching to live view | Connection delay or telemetry loss | Reselect drone or refresh the view |
Replay mode not showing timeline | Flight was not synced properly | Wait for sync or check in Drone > Flights |
Incomplete telemetry display | Low bandwidth or data packet drop | Check internet connection and retry |
7.7 Summary
The Drone Control Center in AeroGCS Enterprise offers real-time and historical mission tracking with the following capabilities:
- Live drone visibility via map-based interface
- Synchronized telemetry metrics in real time
- Multi-drone monitoring through a central control panel
By centralising drone telemetry and live map tracking in a single interface, the Drone Control Center enables mission validation, safety monitoring, and remote collaboration—all within the AeroGCS Enterprise platform.
