2 . FAQ About AeroGCS Usage
How can I use the software?
PDRL does not sell AeroGCS software or your copy of it – PDRL only licenses it. The software may require a key to install or access it. If it does, you are responsible for the use of keys assigned to you post legitimate purchase process. You should not share the keys with third parties. The license is a perpetual license; once it is issued to you post purchase, you are entitled to use it till the end of AeroGCS Product support or end of the product.
May I make a backup copy?
The AeroGCS software is permitted to install on one device only at one time however the software binary can be stored as backup copy.
What about updating the software?
If the software covered by this agreement is an update to your existing ground control system software, the update replaces the original software or part of it. You do not retain any rights to the original software after it has been updated and you may not continue to use it or transfer it in any way. This agreement governs your rights to use the updated software and replaces the agreement for the software from which it was updated. After the update is complete, some functions may not migrate or may be incompatible with older devices as defined in release notes. Backup before any software update must be done by you.
Can I transfer the software to another device with the same ownership?
You may transfer the software directly to another device, only with the licensed device. You may not keep any copies of the software or any earlier device. All the software license terms and conditions will be applicable as they are on the new device.
What is license generation and applying process?
AeroGCS OEM license is generated using OEM account of drone manufacturers.
- Post commercial request of AeroGCS licenses, PDRL team approves the quantity of license can be generated by drone OEM.
- OEM can see total entitlement of licenses from his account at OEM server.
- You can then generate license for each drone. The license is a 25-character key. This license key is sent to the registered email address of the user of license.
- The same license key should be used and applied in AeroGCS software installed on the device.
- Post applying the sent license key of AeroGCS, the AeroGCS gives a message of successful activation of your AeroGCS license.
Does the software require internet to work?
No, post successful activation of license key of AeroGCS license, you do not need internet to use the software. However, if you have taken AeroGCS Enterprise Subscription where your logs are synchronized with cloud application then you need internet to synchronize logs.
Does the software collect my personal information?
If you connect your device to the Internet, some features of the software may connect to PDRL cloud application to send or receive information, including personal information. You may not always receive a separate notice when they connect. If you choose to use any of these features, you agree to send or receive this information when using that feature.
How does PDRL use your information?
PDRL uses the information it collects through the software features to upgrade or fix the software and otherwise improve our products and services. In certain circumstances, PDRL also shares it with others.
For example, PDRL may share error reports with relevant hardware and software vendors, so that they can use the information to improve how their products run with PDRL products. You agree that PDRL may collect, use and disclose the information as described in the Privacy Statements at

What does this agreement apply to?
This agreement applies to the software, the media on which you received the software, if received on media, and any PDRL updates, supplements, and services for the software, unless other terms come with them. All AeroGCS OEM software licenses are supplied to drone manufacturers and then drone manufacturers supplies to buyer / user. Therefore this agreement terms are primarily applicable to drone manufacture and also to end users.
Are there things I am not allowed to do with the software?
Yes. Because the software is licensed, not sold, PDRL reserves all rights (such as rights under intellectual property laws) not expressly granted in this agreement; attempt to circumvent technical protection measures in the software, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except if the laws where you live permit this even when our agreement does not.
Most importantly,
the software license does not authorize you to misuse the software for any illegal activity or any activity termed as illegal in the country, terrorist activities or any activity prohibited by the laws of the country. The software license doesn’t authorize you to use the software only for Government compliance purposes and not actually using it on the drone system.
3 Additional Terms
3.1 License Rights
The software license is permanently assigned to the device (physical hardware system) with which you acquired the software. You may only use the software on that device.
- Specific Use: AeroGCS OEM license should be exclusively used on the type certified drone model and its sub sequent units manufactured by the OEM.
- Usage rights relative to Drones: You may use the software with a drone type certified by the Government of India for the authorized application only.
- Device Connection: AeroGCS OEM requires connecting a drone. You may only connect one drone at a time and use with AeroGCS OEM edition. If AeroGCS enterprise subscription is taken, then AeroGCS will connect to PDRL’s cloud platform for service of AeroGCS enterprise.
- Remote Access: The software license does not authorize any remote access of AeroGCS OEM edition remotely excluding software update procedure.
- Devices: In this agreement, “device” means a drone hardware system with an internal storage device capable of running the software. A hardware partition or blade is a device.
- Multiple Version: The software includes multiple versions like android version, desktop version, OEM specific hardware version like Herelink. Under one software license, you are permitted to use software license only on one supported device like android version or desktop version or OEM specific hardware version at a time. You are authorized to transfer license from one type of device to another however simultaneously you can use it on only one device.
- Hardware Replacement: You can upgrade or replace the hardware and transfer the license to new hardware.
- PDRL has the right to terminate this License Agreement and License’s right to use this Software upon any material breach by Licensee.
3.2 License Rights
- How Activation Works: The software will notify you if whenever you activates the software, whether the installed copy of the software is properly licensed. During activation, the software will send information about the software and your device to PDRL. This information includes the version, and product key of the software, the Internet protocol address of the device, and information derived from the hardware configuration of the device.
- Re-Activation: Some changes to your device or the software may require re-activation of the software.
- Activation Failure: During online activation, if the licensing or activation functions of the software are found to be counterfeit, improperly licensed, or include unauthorized changes, activation will fail, and the software will attempt to repair itself by replacing any tampered PDRL with genuine PDRL software.
3.3 Internet Based Features:
Some software features use Internet protocols, which send to PDRL device information, such as your Internet protocol address, the type of operating system, and name and version of the software you are using, the language code of the device where you installed the software, and on, as per Privacy Statement at

3.4 Digital Certificates:
AeroGCS OEM edition uses digital certificates to sign the firmware and upload to your drone system. The digital certificates have private key and public keys. Public keys are used to generate hash signatures of firmware and hash is stored in drone system.
3.5 Proof of License
If you acquired the software on the device, your proof of license is the genuine PDRL certificate of authenticity label with the accompanying genuine product key, and proof of purchase from a supplier of genuine AeroGCS OEM software.
If you acquired and downloaded the software online, your proof of license is the genuine AeroGCS OEM product key for the software that you received with your purchase, and your proof of purchase from an authorized electronic supplier/platform of genuine AeroGCS OEM software. Proof of purchase may be subject to verification by your merchant’s records.
3.6 Updates and Upgrades
You may only obtain updates or upgrades for the AeroGCS software from PDRL or authorized sources. Certain upgrades, support, and other services may be offered only to users of genuine AeroGCS OEM software. PDRL does not authorize or license to downgrade the software.
3.7 Third Party Programs
This AeroGCS OEM software contains certain third-party programs. You agree that your use of them is governed by the license terms provided with those programs.
3.8 Not Fault Tolerant
The AeroGCS OEM software is not fault tolerant. You installed the software on the drone device and are responsible for how it operates on the device.
3.9 Support Services
AeroGCS OEM product is being sold and delivered to drone manufacturers only; no direct sales of the AeroGCS OEM product is supported by PDRL. Therefore, for any technical product support services, PDLR is liable to deliver product support services to drone OEM only, not to its end users. PDRL’s support service team has the right to validate the technical support service requestor before assisting them and deny if not found genuine.
3.10 Disclaimer of Warranty
The software is licensed “as-is.” You bear the risk of using it. PDRL gives no express warranties, guarantees, or conditions. You may have additional consumer rights under local laws which this agreement cannot change. PDRL excludes the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
3.11 Limitation on and Exclusion of Remedies and Damages
You can recover from PDRL and its suppliers only direct damages up to the amount you paid for that individual software license. You cannot recover any other damages, including consequential, lost profits, special, indirect or incidental damages.
This limitation applies to
- anything related to the software, services, content (including code) on third party Internet sites, or third-party programs; and
- claims for breach of contract, breach of warranty, guarantee or condition, strict liability, negligence, or other tort to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- It also applies even if
- repair, replacement or a refund for the software does not fully compensate you for any losses; or
- PDRL knew or should have known about the possibility of the damages.
3.12 Export Restrictions
You must comply with all domestic and international export laws and regulations that apply to the software, which include restrictions on destinations, end users, and end use.
3.13 Entire Agreement
This agreement’s copy is available to view on the AeroGCS product as well as on https://aerogcs.com or https://pdrl.in/ website.
3.14 Drone Firmware
PDRL doesn’t sell any drone firmware to the OEM and offers support on open source / respective drone firmware. Entire capability of flying of drone comes from the drone firmware where PDRL doesn’t play any role.
3.15 Third party device integration
PDRL integrates third party hardware to offer support through AeroGCS software. The integration efficiency or performance is on best effort basis. PDRL is not liable for any malfunction of third party hardware in drone when they are integrated with AeroGCS software.
