6. Flight Logs
The Flight Logs section in AeroGCS DEFENCE enables users to view, replay, and download detailed records of all executed flight sessions. These logs provide comprehensive telemetry data for post-flight analysis and compliance verification.
This feature is especially crucial for mission audits, performance assessments, and battery usage optimization.
6.1. Viewing and Accessing Flight Logs
🔗 Navigation:
Home Screen → Three-dot menu → Flight Logs
The Flight Logs interface lists all recorded flight sessions along with key metadata such as Start Time, End Time, Drone ID, Replay, and Download options.
Screen Placeholder:
Key Table Columns:
Field | Description |
Start Time | Timestamp when the flight began. |
End Time | Timestamp when the flight ended. |
Drone | Identifier of the drone used in the session. |
Replay | Icon to replay the mission on the map with telemetry. |
Download | Icon to export the flight log data. |
6.2. Playing Back a Flight Log
The Flight Logs screen allows users to either view detailed information about a flight session or replay a recorded video (if available). Each log entry provides two distinct actions:
6.2.1 – Viewing the Flight Summary
Purpose: View complete telemetry and flight metadata from a recorded session.
To access flight summary:
- Click anywhere on the row of the desired flight log entry on the Flight Logs
The system displays a detailed summary with the following information:
Field | Description |
Flight ID | Unique identifier for the flight session. |
Date | Date of execution. |
Start / End Time | Exact start and end timestamps. |
Duration | Total time elapsed during the flight. |
Avg Altitude | Mean altitude throughout the session. |
Avg Speed | Average speed maintained by the UAV. |
Additional Features:
- A flight path map displays the entire route flown by the UAV, including directional markers.
- A video preview pane appears in the lower section if a recorded video exists.
- A More Details link provides access to telemetry graphs and logs (described in Section 6.3).
6.2.2 – Playing the Recorded Flight Video
Purpose: Replay a mission session video, if available, for post-flight analysis.
To replay a video recording:
- Click the Replay icon (↻) from the Replay column corresponding to a flight entry.
The following features are provided during playback:
- Embedded video player with synchronized playback controls.
- Real-time mission path visualization (if supported by video).
- Playback timeline to scrub through the flight duration.
Note: Replay is only available if the flight was recorded. If not, the replay icon may be disabled or the player may remain empty. |
6.3. Viewing Full Flight Data (More Details)
For advanced diagnostics, click the More Details link from the replay screen. This view provides graphical and tabular telemetry data:
Displayed Graphs:
Graph | Description |
Roll / Pitch / Yaw | Orientation dynamics of the UAV over time. |
Altitude | Altitude variation throughout the flight. |
Distance / Battery | Battery voltage level against the distance travelled. |
Tabular Data Includes:
- Time
- Roll / Pitch / Yaw values
- Altitude
- Speed
- GPS Coordinates (Latitude, Longitude)
- Battery Voltage
These metrics help operators and engineers to:
- Detect anomalies in flight patterns.
- Monitor battery discharge rates.
- Validate mission compliance and performance.
6.4. Downloading Flight Logs
To export a log for offline inspection:
- On the Flight Logs screen, click the Download icon in the desired row.
- A .log or .csv file (format as per system settings) is saved locally.
- This file can be used for post-processing, audits, or submission to regulatory authorities.
Notes:
- Only completed flights appear in this section.
- Replay works in both online and offline modes.
- Logs are tied to the drone’s unique identifier (Drone ID).
- AeroGCS DEFENCE ensures logs are time-stamped and tamper-proof.
